Buffer Overflow in UTT 进取 512W /goform/ConfigExceptMSN (strcpy remark argument)

IdentifiersCVE-2025-15092CWE-120· Buffer Copy without Checking Size…

CVE-2025-15092 is a buffer overflow vulnerability in UTT 进取 512W devices running firmware up to version 1.7.7-171114. The vulnerability exists in the strcpy function within the /goform/ConfigExceptMSN file, where improper handling of the 'remark' argument allows an attacker to overflow a memory buffer. This can lead to memory corruption and potentially arbitrary code execution. The flaw is remotely exploitable, and public proof-of-concept exploits are available.

ANALYST BRIEF

Impact, mitigation & remediation

What it means. What to do now. Patch path, mitigations, and the assume-compromise checklist.

Impact

What an attacker gets, and what they’ve been doing with it.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability can result in memory corruption, device instability, or remote code execution with the privileges of the affected process. Given the remote exploitability and availability of public exploits, the risk of compromise is high.

Mitigation

If you can’t patch tonight, do this now.

Restrict remote access to the /goform/ConfigExceptMSN endpoint, apply network segmentation to limit exposure, and monitor for exploitation attempts. Consider disabling unnecessary remote management features until the device is patched.

Remediation

Patch, then assume compromise.

Update the UTT 进取 512W device firmware to a version later than 1.7.7-171114. Apply any vendor-provided patches addressing this vulnerability. Ensure all devices are running the latest available firmware.
