Authenticated SQL injection in Cisco Secure FMC REST API

IdentifiersCVE-2026-20003CWE-89· Improper Neutralization of Special…

A vulnerability in the REST API of Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center (FMC) Software could allow an authenticated remote attacker to perform SQL injection due to inadequate validation of user-supplied input. An attacker can send crafted requests to the affected device to inject SQL, resulting in database read access and the ability to read certain files from the underlying operating system. Exploitation requires valid credentials with one of the following roles: Administrator, Security approver, Intrusion admin, Access admin, or Network admin.

ANALYST BRIEF

Impact, mitigation & remediation

What it means. What to do now. Patch path, mitigations, and the assume-compromise checklist.

Impact

What an attacker gets, and what they’ve been doing with it.

Successful exploitation allows an authenticated attacker to obtain read access to the FMC database and read certain files on the underlying operating system, resulting in information disclosure from both the application data store and parts of the host filesystem.

Mitigation

If you can’t patch tonight, do this now.

Information currently not available in the provided content.

Remediation

Patch, then assume compromise.
