Stack-based Buffer Overflow in Tenda HG7/HG9/HG10 Web Management Interface

IdentifiersCVE-2026-11498CWE-121· Stack-based Buffer Overflow

CVE-2026-11498 affects Tenda HG7, HG9, and HG10 devices running firmware version 300001138_en_xpon. The vulnerability is present in the asp_voip_OtherSet function exposed through the /boaform/voip_other_set endpoint in the web management interface. By supplying a crafted value to the funckey_transfer argument, an attacker can trigger a stack-based buffer overflow. The issue is remotely reachable over the network via the device web interface.

ANALYST BRIEF

Impact, mitigation & remediation

What it means. What to do now. Patch path, mitigations, and the assume-compromise checklist.

Impact

What an attacker gets, and what they’ve been doing with it.

Successful exploitation can cause memory corruption in the web management process and may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected service. At minimum, the flaw can be used to crash the service or device, resulting in denial of service. The provided scoring metadata indicates high potential impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Mitigation

If you can’t patch tonight, do this now.

Restrict access to the web management interface so that /boaform/voip_other_set is not reachable from untrusted networks. Disable remote administration if not required, place the management interface behind trusted internal networks or ACLs, and limit access to authorized administrators only. Where possible, segment affected devices and monitor for suspicious requests targeting the voip_other_set endpoint or malformed funckey_transfer values.

Remediation

Patch, then assume compromise.

Upgrade affected Tenda HG7, HG9, and HG10 devices from firmware 300001138_en_xpon to a vendor-fixed release if one is available. If no patched firmware has been published, obtain guidance directly from Tenda and monitor for an official security update addressing the unsafe handling of the funckey_transfer parameter in asp_voip_OtherSet.
