ArcaneDoor is a state-sponsored threat actor attributed by CISA and partner agencies to the ArcaneDoor attack campaign in 2023 and 2024. The actor has targeted Cisco ASA and Firepower firewalls and, in 2025, was linked to active exploitation of CVE-2025-20333 and CVE-2025-20362 as zero-days. Reported tradecraft includes use of custom malware to disable logging and prevent crash dump creation, as well as modification of the ROMMON program to establish persistence for a custom backdoor.
