Denial of Service in GitLab CE/EE via malicious file upload

GitLab CE/EE contains a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting all versions from 8.0 before 18.6.6, 18.7 before 18.7.4, and 18.8 before 18.8.4. Under certain conditions, an unauthenticated attacker can upload a malicious file that triggers excessive resource consumption during processing, resulting in service disruption. Supporting content indicates the issue is associated with specially crafted Markdown files that can trigger exponential processing loops and CPU exhaustion.
