ANALYST BRIEF

Impact, mitigation & remediation

What it means. What to do now. Patch path, mitigations, and the assume-compromise checklist.

Impact

What an attacker gets, and what they’ve been doing with it.

Unauthorized access to a user’s Safari history, resulting in a privacy breach (exposure of browsing activity).

Mitigation

If you can’t patch tonight, do this now.

No specific vendor workaround is described. Until patching, reduce exposure by restricting installation/execution of untrusted apps (e.g., MDM allowlisting) and monitoring for suspicious app behavior indicative of attempts to access Safari history.

Remediation

Patch, then assume compromise.

Apply the vendor updates that include the fix: upgrade to iOS 18.7.5 / iPadOS 18.7.5, update Safari to 26.3, and/or update macOS Tahoe to 26.3 (or later fixed releases).
