CVE-2026-30997 is an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in FFmpeg v8.0.1. The flaw is in the read_global_param() function in libavcodec/av1dec.c, within FFmpeg's AV1 decoder. A crafted malformed input can cause the decoder to read memory outside the intended bounds while processing AV1 data, leading to a crash and denial of service.
