CVE-2026-43219 is a Linux kernel vulnerability in the TI CPSW Ethernet driver code under net/cpsw_new. The flaw is in the error-handling path of cpsw_register_ports(): if register_netdev() fails for the first MAC, cpsw->slaves[0].ndev may be cleared, but cpsw->slaves[1].ndev can remain unchanged. During later cleanup in cpsw_unregister_ports(), the driver may attempt to call unregister_netdev() on a network device that was never successfully registered. The upstream fix adds a guard that checks ndev->reg_state before calling unregister_netdev(), eliminating the invalid unregister operation and making the prior NULL assignment unnecessary.
