LummaC2 is a criminal infostealer service used to steal data from compromised systems and support downstream cybercrime. It has been operated as a service-based malware offering and has been relied upon by multiple criminal groups. Publicly reported disruption activity in 2025 showed that U.S. authorities, working with Microsoft and other security partners, seized key infrastructure used to control LummaC2 user panels and removed large numbers of malicious domains associated with the service. The operation significantly degraded the service and disrupted dependent criminal activity. Based on the available facts, LummaC2 is best characterized as a financially motivated cybercrime operation centered on information theft and data exfiltration.
