HydraStealer is an information-stealing malware family associated with collection of locally stored artifacts from AI-assisted development tools. Its collection activity includes data that may expose access and refresh tokens, API keys, Model Context Protocol configuration secrets, prompt and conversation histories, project metadata, and connected-service settings. Such material can enable session hijacking, account abuse, credential compromise, paid API abuse, and access to connected development, cloud, collaboration, database, or source-control services. HydraStealer exemplifies a broader trend in which infostealers use configurable collection rules to expand targeting to predictable local application data on systems that are already compromised.
