STG Stealer is an information-stealing malware family associated with collection of locally stored artifacts from AI-assisted development tools. Its collection behavior includes targeting data that may expose AI-service access and refresh tokens, Model Context Protocol configuration secrets, API credentials, prompt or conversation histories, and project metadata. Theft of such material can enable session reuse, unauthorized account access, abuse of paid API services, exposure of development context, and compromise of connected services. The malware’s collection scope can be expanded through remotely managed rules on already compromised endpoints, allowing operators to add application-specific targets without redistributing the malware.
