Anthropic has made Claude Mythos 5 available in public beta within Claude Security for Claude Enterprise customers, expanding access to an AI model previously withheld from broad release because of its performance in high-risk cyber domains. The company said the model operates only through constrained defensive workflows that scan customer-selected code repositories, identify potential vulnerabilities, and return findings tagged with CWE, severity, confidence, and suggested remediation guidance.
Anthropic said customers do not receive unrestricted cyber-tasking access to the model, and any fixes proposed by the system require human review before implementation. Alongside the launch, the company said it is pursuing integrations with cybersecurity partners and introduced the Defender Advantage Fund (0xDAF), a $35 million initiative intended to support discovery and patching of vulnerabilities in open-source software.

Anthropic said its Cyber Verification Program will expand in the coming weeks to allow vetted organizations broader dual-use cybersecurity capabilities on Claude Opus and Sonnet, including vulnerability triaging and validation. The company also said Mythos-class access will later be added to the program.
In June, Anthropic launched Fable 5 rather than publicly releasing Mythos 5. The article says Fable 5 was effectively Mythos 5 with much stricter guardrails, reflecting Anthropic's concern about Mythos 5's performance in high-risk domains.
Anthropic announced the Defender Advantage Fund, or 0xDAF, with $35 million in Claude credits to support open-source software security work. The fund is intended to prioritize remediation of live vulnerabilities in widely used projects and scalable automation for code scanning and patching.
Anthropic said it is working with cybersecurity technology and services partners to embed Mythos 5 into existing security products. The company identified use cases including security operations, incident response, threat intelligence, detection engineering, and software remediation, with scope controls and abuse-prevention mechanisms.
Anthropic announced that Claude Mythos 5 is now available within Claude Security for enterprise vulnerability scanning and remediation guidance. The capability is in public beta for Claude Enterprise customers and is delivered through a constrained defensive workflow rather than direct model access.
Before the broader Claude Security rollout, Mythos 5 was available only to about 150 partners in Anthropic's Project Glasswing program. This indicates the model had been kept in a restricted-access channel rather than publicly released.
Anthropic previously launched the Cyber Verification Program, which gives vetted defenders reduced safeguards for legitimate dual-use cybersecurity work using Claude Opus and Sonnet models. The company said qualified organizations in the program would also receive safeguarded access to Claude Mythos in the future.
