The international activist collective Capytistas reportedly plans a phased doxing campaign against wealthy individuals and their associates, starting with Elon Musk. BFMTV, citing Wired reporting, said the group intends to publish a map in November identifying residences linked to Musk, his brother Kimbal, Tesla executives and directors, and associated investors and suppliers. The reporting does not establish that the map has already been published.
Capytistas claims its research combines public records, physical surveillance, human infiltration, and location and profile data traded in online advertising markets. The group portrays the campaign as accountability for powerful people whose businesses collect personal information and hopes the disclosures will spur public pressure and protests. Although members say they want to prevent violence, publishing residential locations creates risks of harassment and physical harm. The planned campaign highlights how commercially available personal data can compound executive-protection risks, with exposure extending beyond prominent leaders to their families and business networks.
