Use-after-free in Google Chrome Cast
CVE-2026-6317 is a high-severity use-after-free vulnerability in the Cast component of Google Chrome. According to the provided content, the flaw exists in Chrome's Cast-related functionality and arises when a pointer to a Cast-related object is accessed after the underlying memory has already been freed, creating a dangling-pointer condition. A remote attacker can trigger the bug via a crafted HTML page and potentially reclaim the freed memory with attacker-controlled data, which may allow redirection of execution flow. Google states that affected versions are Chrome prior to 147.0.7727.101, with patched builds released as 147.0.7727.101/102 on Windows and macOS, 147.0.7727.101 on Linux, and 147.0.7727.101 on Android.
