CVE-2026-47911 is an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in Adobe Acrobat Reader affecting versions 24.001.30365, 26.001.21651, and earlier. The flaw exists in the parsing of TIF files and is caused by improper validation of user-supplied data, which can trigger an integer overflow before a memory write. This memory corruption condition can be leveraged to achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user/process when a specially crafted malicious file is opened, or when the victim is induced to visit a malicious page that triggers the vulnerable parsing path.

Until patches are fully deployed, reduce exposure by preventing users from opening untrusted or unsolicited files, especially TIF-containing content, and avoid visiting untrusted pages that may deliver malicious documents or trigger the vulnerable parsing path. Use attachment and content filtering, restrict document handling from untrusted sources, and apply least-privilege controls so successful exploitation executes with minimal user rights.

Remediation

Patch, then assume compromise.

Upgrade Adobe Acrobat Reader to a fixed release newer than 24.001.30365 and 26.001.21651. Adobe has issued an update addressing this vulnerability and published remediation guidance in security bulletin APSB26-63. Apply the vendor-provided security update across affected Reader deployments.
