VCNative for Adobe Version Cue 1.0 and 1.0.1, as included in Creative Suite 1.0 and 1.3 on Mac OS X, creates temporary log files with predictable names. This allows local attackers to exploit a race condition by creating symbolic links (symlinks) from the predictable log file names to arbitrary files, resulting in those files being overwritten or modified when the application writes to the log.
