Husdawg, LLC Systems Requirements Lab (SRL) 3 (as used by Instant Expert Analysis) exposes an Init method in both an ActiveX control (distributed via sysreqlab2.cab and implemented in sysreqlab.dll/sysreqlabsli.dll/sysreqlab2.dll) and a Java applet (RLApplet.class in sysreqlab2.jar/sysreqlab.jar) that accepts a website argument without sufficient restriction. A remote attacker can supply a malicious website argument to cause the component to download and execute an arbitrary program, resulting in remote code execution in the context of the user running the browser.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting a vulnerability (CVE-2008-4385) in the Husdawg System Requirements Lab ActiveX Control (sysreqlab2.dll 2.30.0.0) on Windows. The exploit is delivered via a malicious web page served by the Metasploit HTTP server. When a victim visits the page with a vulnerable browser, the page instantiates the vulnerable ActiveX control using its CLSID and calls an unsafe method, causing the control to download and execute a payload executable from the attacker's server. The payload is fully customizable using Metasploit's payload options, allowing for arbitrary code execution (such as a reverse shell or meterpreter session) on the victim's machine. The module is weaponized, as it is part of the Metasploit framework and supports flexible payload delivery. The only file in the repository is a Ruby script implementing the exploit logic, and it leverages Metasploit's HTTP server and EXE generation capabilities. The main fingerprintable endpoints are the HTTP URL used to deliver the payload and the CLSID of the targeted ActiveX control.
