CVE-2011-3176 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the Preboot Service component of Novell ZENworks Configuration Management (ZCM) versions 11.1 and 11.1a. The vulnerability is triggered by a specially crafted opcode 0x4c request sent to the service, which can cause a buffer overflow on the stack, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the service process.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting a remote buffer overflow vulnerability (CVE-2011-3176) in the Novell ZENworks Configuration Management Preboot Service. The exploit is implemented in Ruby and leverages the Metasploit framework's TCP and SEH exploitation capabilities. The module crafts a specially formatted packet with opcode 0x4C and sends it to TCP port 998 on the target, triggering a buffer overflow and executing a ROP chain to bypass DEP on Windows Server 2003 SP2. The payload is customizable and can be any Metasploit-compatible shellcode (up to 994 bytes, avoiding null bytes). The exploit specifically targets ZENworks Configuration Management versions 10 SP2 and SP3. The code is operational and provides reliable exploitation if the target is vulnerable. The only fingerprintable endpoint is TCP port 998, which is the default port for the affected Preboot Service.
