CVE-2012-6153 is an SSL/TLS hostname-verification flaw in Apache Commons HttpClient versions before 4.2.3, in the AbstractVerifier implementation. The verifier improperly extracts and validates hostname information from an X.509 certificate subject, allowing a domain name located in a subject field other than the Common Name (CN) field to satisfy hostname validation. This is an incomplete fix for CVE-2012-5783.
