CVE-2013-4590 is an XML External Entity (XXE) vulnerability in Apache Tomcat before 6.0.39, 7.x before 7.0.50, and 8.x before 8.0.0-RC10. Tomcat resolved external entities in application-supplied XML deployment, JSP, tag-library, and related configuration documents. A malicious application can include an external-entity declaration and a corresponding entity reference, causing Tomcat to process attacker-controlled entity targets. This can circumvent restrictions intended to be enforced by the Java Security Manager and disclose Tomcat internals or other sensitive system information.
