Async Http Client (AHC) versions before 1.9.0 can skip X.509 certificate-chain verification during HTTPS connections unless both key store and trust store locations are explicitly configured. This insecure behavior can occur in configurations involving client certificates and causes the client to accept an arbitrary certificate rather than validating the remote server's certificate.
