CVE-2013-7398 is an improper certificate hostname-validation vulnerability in Async Http Client (async-http-client) before version 1.9.0. During TLS certificate validation, the client did not verify that the hostname of the requested server matched a Common Name or Subject Alternative Name in the presented X.509 certificate. Consequently, a certificate trusted by the client for an unrelated hostname could be accepted when connecting to the intended HTTPS endpoint.
