CVE-2014-0050 is an infinite-loop denial-of-service vulnerability in Apache Commons FileUpload before 1.3.1. MultipartStream incorrectly handles small buffers while parsing a malformed Content-Type header in a multipart request, allowing loop exit conditions to be bypassed. The vulnerable library is embedded or repackaged in products including Apache Tomcat and JBoss Web. Apache Commons FileUpload 1.0 through 1.3, Apache Tomcat 7.0.0 through 7.0.50, and Apache Tomcat 8.0.0-RC1 through 8.0.1 are affected.

This repository contains a single Metasploit auxiliary module that exploits a Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability (CVE-2014-0050) in Apache Commons FileUpload (versions 1.0 through 1.3) and certain versions of Apache Tomcat (7.0.0-7.0.50, 8.0.0-RC1-8.0.1, and Tomcat 6 Manager application). The module works by sending multiple HTTP POST requests with a specially crafted Content-Type header and malformed multipart body, which triggers an infinite loop in the vulnerable server's multipart parser, causing the service to become unresponsive. The module is written in Ruby and is designed to be run within the Metasploit Framework. The only file present is the exploit module itself, and it requires the attacker to specify the target URI and port (default 8080). No detection or post-exploitation features are present; the module's sole purpose is to cause a denial of service on the vulnerable server.
