In affected releases, EL evaluation can execute within a privileged code section without properly handling the case where an accessible interface is implemented by an inaccessible class. A web application can leverage the resulting incorrect privilege context to bypass Java SecurityManager protections. Affected upstream versions are Apache Tomcat 6.x before 6.0.44, 7.x before 7.0.58, and 8.x before 8.0.16.
