CVE-2015-10138 is an unauthenticated arbitrary file upload vulnerability in the WordPress Work The Flow File Upload plugin affecting versions up to and including 2.5.2. The flaw is attributed to missing server-side file type validation and lack of authentication checks in the plugin’s bundled jQuery-File-Upload-9.5.0 server-side handler, specifically the PHP upload endpoint at /wp-content/plugins/work-the-flow-file-upload/public/assets/jQuery-File-Upload-9.5.0/server/php/index.php. Because the handler trusts user-supplied input and does not properly restrict uploaded file types, a remote attacker can submit a multipart/form-data POST request containing an arbitrary file, including executable PHP code. Uploaded files are stored in a predictable web-accessible directory under /wp-content/plugins/work-the-flow-file-upload/public/assets/jQuery-File-Upload-9.5.0/server/php/files/, allowing the attacker to request the uploaded file directly over HTTP. In typical WordPress/PHP deployments this can result in remote code execution via a web shell or other malicious PHP payload.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (Ruby file) that exploits an arbitrary file upload vulnerability in the WordPress 'Work The Flow' plugin (version 2.5.2). The exploit works by sending a specially crafted POST request to the plugin's file upload endpoint, uploading a PHP payload. After successful upload, the module accesses the uploaded file to trigger remote code execution. The module leverages Metasploit's payload system, allowing the attacker to execute arbitrary PHP code (such as a reverse shell) on the target server. The exploit targets CVE-2015-10138 and is weaponized, as it is part of the Metasploit framework and supports customizable payloads. The main attack vector is network-based, requiring HTTP access to the vulnerable WordPress instance. The endpoints involved are the plugin's upload handler and the location where the uploaded PHP file is accessed and executed.
