CVE-2016-6794 is an information-disclosure vulnerability in Apache Tomcat's system-property replacement feature for configuration files. In affected Tomcat releases, a malicious deployed web application can abuse property replacement to bypass restrictions imposed by a configured Java SecurityManager and read system properties that the application would otherwise be prohibited from accessing. Affected versions include Tomcat 6.0.0 through 6.0.45, 7.0.0 through 7.0.70, 8.0.0.RC1 through 8.0.36, 8.5.0 through 8.5.4, and 9.0.0.M1 through 9.0.0.M9.
