CVE-2016-9606 is an improper input-validation vulnerability in JBoss RESTEasy before 3.1.2. RESTEasy enabled YamlProvider by default, allowing certain JAX-RS endpoints to be forced to process YAML input through SnakeYAML. Unsafe unmarshalling of attacker-controlled YAML can instantiate or process untrusted object data and result in arbitrary code execution. Upstream RESTEasy addressed the issue by removing YamlProvider from the default provider list.
