A local elevation-of-privilege vulnerability in the Windows COM Aggregate Marshaler affects multiple Microsoft Windows versions, including Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 through 1703, Windows RT 8.1, Windows Server 2008 SP2 and R2 SP1, Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2, and Windows Server 2016. The flaw can be triggered when an attacker executes a specially crafted application on a vulnerable system. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to elevate privileges from a lower-privileged context to a higher one on the local machine. The issue is tracked as CVE-2017-0213 and is distinct from CVE-2017-0214.
