CVE-2017-16939 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel IPsec/XFRM policy-dump implementation in net/xfrm/xfrm_user.c, affecting kernels before 4.13.11. When CONFIG_XFRM_USER is enabled, cleanup of an XFRM Netlink socket in xfrm_dump_policy_done can mishandle the lifetime of policy-dump state. A local process can trigger the flaw using a crafted SO_RCVBUF setsockopt call in conjunction with XFRM_MSG_GETPOLICY Netlink messages.
