A remote command execution vulnerability exists in NETGEAR ReadyNAS Surveillance before 1.4.3-17 (x86) and before 1.1.4-7 (ARM). The vulnerability is due to the lack of escaping of the $_GET['uploaddir'] parameter, which is passed directly to the system() function via the $tmp_upload_dir variable in upgrade_handle.php. This allows an attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the device by supplying crafted input to the uploaddir parameter.
