CVE-2017-6527 is a directory traversal vulnerability in dnaTools dnaLIMS version 4-2015s13. The flaw exists in the viewAppletFsa.cgi script, where the seqID parameter is not properly sanitized, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to supply NUL-terminated directory traversal payloads. This enables access to arbitrary files on the filesystem that are readable by the web server user, including sensitive files such as password stores.

This repository contains a single Metasploit auxiliary module targeting a directory traversal vulnerability in dnaLIMS (CVE-2017-6527). The module exploits improper handling of the 'secID' parameter in the viewAppletFsa.cgi script, allowing an attacker to read arbitrary files from the server's filesystem by sending a crafted HTTP GET request. The module is configurable for the base path to dnaLIMS, the file to retrieve, and the traversal depth. By default, it attempts to retrieve '/home/dna/spool/.pfile', which is the application's password database. The exploit is operational and provides file exfiltration capabilities. The only file in the repository is a Ruby script compatible with the Metasploit framework, and it is structured as a typical Metasploit auxiliary scanner module.
