CVE-2017-8470 is an information disclosure vulnerability in the Windows kernel (Win32k) affecting Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008 SP2 and R2 SP1, Windows 8.1 and RT 8.1, Windows Server 2012 and R2, Windows 10 (Gold, 1511, 1607, 1703), and Windows Server 2016. The vulnerability exists due to improper initialization of objects in memory by the Windows kernel, which can be exploited by an authenticated attacker running a specially crafted application to disclose sensitive information from kernel memory.
