CVE-2018-1000861 is a remote code execution vulnerability in the Stapler web framework used by Jenkins. It affects Jenkins 2.153 and earlier and Jenkins LTS 2.138.3 and earlier. The flaw is located in MetaClass.java within Stapler and allows crafted HTTP request URLs to reach and invoke methods on Java objects that were not intended to be externally invocable through the web interface. By exposing unintended method invocation paths through URL handling, the vulnerability can be abused to trigger code execution in the Jenkins process context.
