CVE-2018-25115 is an OS command-injection vulnerability in the firmware service endpoint of multiple D-Link DIR-series routers, including DIR-110, DIR-412, DIR-600, DIR-610, DIR-615, DIR-645, and DIR-815. Improper handling of the EVENT=CHECKFW parameter passes attacker-controlled input to a system shell without sanitization. A crafted HTTP POST request allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges. DIR-815 firmware version 1.03 is specifically identified as affected; affected firmware ranges for other models are not established and may vary. The affected models were unsupported when the vulnerability was assigned. Exploitation evidence was first observed on August 21, 2025.
