CVE-2018-4063 is an unrestricted file upload vulnerability in the web management interface of Sierra Wireless AirLink ES450/AirLink ALEOS devices, specifically in the upload.cgi functionality (ACEManager). A remote attacker who can send an authenticated HTTP request to the upload endpoint can upload a specially crafted file of a dangerous type such that it becomes executable and reachable by the embedded web server. Because the uploaded content can then be executed on the device, the flaw results in remote code execution on affected routers/gateways. Supporting reporting indicates the issue affects ALEOS firmware 4.9.3 and, more broadly, vulnerable AirLink ALEOS deployments prior to vendor-fixed releases.
