CVE-2019-12260 affects Wind River VxWorks 6.9 and Vx7 in the IPNET TCP/IP stack. The flaw is described as a TCP Urgent Pointer state confusion condition triggered by a malformed TCP Authentication Option (AO). This results in an improper bounds condition during TCP receive handling that can cause a buffer overflow of up to a full TCP receive window in applications reading from an affected socket via recv(), recvfrom(), or recvmsg(). The issue is one of the Ripple20/IPNET vulnerabilities and is remotely reachable over the network.
