CVE-2019-12928 is an OS command injection issue in the QEMU Machine Protocol (QMP) migrate command affecting QEMU 4.0.0 and earlier. A remote attacker able to send crafted QMP commands to a listening QMP server can trigger command injection, potentially causing arbitrary command execution on the host running QEMU. The issue is associated with exposure of the QMP control interface, which is intended for trusted administrative use. The reported vulnerability has been disputed by maintainers as a non-issue in the context of QMP's trust model, but the described behavior still represents command-injection risk when the interface is exposed to untrusted parties, such as via a TCP socket reachable by attackers.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting QEMU's Monitor Human Monitor Interface (HMP) when exposed over TCP. The exploit leverages the 'migrate' command to achieve arbitrary command execution on the host running QEMU. The module supports both direct command execution (reverse shell) and staged payloads (such as Meterpreter), depending on the selected target. It is designed for Unix and Linux platforms and has been tested on QEMU version 6.2.0 on Ubuntu 20.04. The exploit is operational and can be used to gain remote access to vulnerable QEMU instances. The only fingerprintable endpoint is the QEMU Monitor HMP TCP service, which must be accessible to the attacker. The code is structured as a standard Metasploit exploit module, with clear separation of initialization, checking, exploitation, and payload delivery logic.
