CVE-2019-1547 is a timing side-channel vulnerability in OpenSSL EC-group handling during ECDSA signing through libcrypto. EC groups constructed from explicit curve parameters could omit the cofactor, including where the other supplied parameters matched a known named curve. In this condition, OpenSSL could select a non-side-channel-resistant code path rather than its cofactor-dependent protected path. The fix computes ECC cofactors when absent during EC_GROUP construction and adds minimal validation of the supplied order. Affected upstream releases are OpenSSL 1.0.2 through 1.0.2s, 1.1.0 through 1.1.0k, and 1.1.1 through 1.1.1c. OpenSSL libssl is not affected because it does not use explicit EC parameters.
