CVE-2019-19576 affects class.upload.php in verot.net class.upload before 1.0.3 and 2.x before 2.0.4. The library’s dangerous-extension filtering omitted the .phar extension, allowing an attacker to upload a PHAR file where the application relied on class.upload.php to block executable or otherwise unsafe file types. In products that used this library for upload handling, including the K2 extension for Joomla! and other software, this could permit a malicious .phar payload to be accepted and subsequently processed or exposed in a way that leads to code execution.
