CVE-2019-3568 is a critical memory corruption vulnerability in the WhatsApp VoIP stack. The flaw is described as a buffer overflow, including reporting that characterizes it as a heap overflow, triggered by a specially crafted series of RTCP/SRTCP packets delivered during a WhatsApp call to a target phone number. Successful exploitation allows remote code execution on the target device without authentication and, notably, without requiring the recipient to answer the call or otherwise interact with the application.
