CVE-2019-8452 is a privilege escalation vulnerability in Check Point ZoneAlarm up to version 15.4.062 and Check Point Endpoint Security client for Windows before E80.96. The vulnerability arises from the way the software handles log file archives: if a hard-link is created from a log file archive to any file on the system, the permissions of the linked file are changed to allow access by all users. This allows a local attacker to gain higher privileges to files that would otherwise have restricted access.
