CVE-2020-12641 is a remote code execution vulnerability in Roundcube Webmail before version 1.4.4. The flaw is present in rcube_image.php and arises from unsafe handling of shell metacharacters in configuration values used for external image-processing utilities, specifically im_convert_path or im_identify_path. If an attacker can influence execution through these settings, crafted input can cause arbitrary shell commands to be executed by the underlying system shell instead of invoking only the intended ImageMagick-related binary. Successful exploitation can result in arbitrary code execution on the server hosting Roundcube.
