CVE-2020-14080 is a stack-based buffer overflow affecting TRENDnet TEW-827DRU devices through version 2.06B04. The flaw is in the ssi binary and can be triggered by an unauthenticated HTTP POST request to apply_sec.cgi using the action ping_test parameter set, with a sufficiently long value supplied in the ping_ipaddr key. Improper bounds handling of this attacker-controlled input causes a stack overflow, which can lead to arbitrary code execution on the device.
