CVE-2020-16205 is an OS command injection vulnerability in Geutebrück G-Cam and G-Code devices (firmware versions 1.12.0.25 and prior, as well as 1.12.13.2 and 1.12.14.5). Remote authenticated attackers can execute arbitrary commands as root by sending specially crafted URL commands to the device. The vulnerability affects multiple models, including G-Code EEC-2xxx and G-Cam EBC-21xx, EFD-22xx, ETHC-22xx, and EWPC-22xx. The issue is due to improper sanitization of user-supplied input in URL commands, leading to command injection at the operating system level.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (modules/exploits/linux/http/geutebruck_testaction_exec.rb) that exploits an authenticated remote command execution vulnerability (CVE-2020-16205) in Geutebruck IP camera devices. The exploit targets the 'server' GET parameter of the /uapi-cgi/admin/testaction.cgi endpoint when the 'type' parameter is set to 'ntp'. The module requires valid credentials and targets specific device models and firmware versions. Upon successful exploitation, it achieves remote code execution as root, typically by delivering a reverse shell payload. The module is weaponized, supporting customizable payloads via the Metasploit framework. The code is written in Ruby and leverages Metasploit's HTTP client and command stager mixins. The only endpoints referenced are the vulnerable CGI script and a firmware information XML file.
