CVE-2020-16226 is a vulnerability in the TCP protocol stack of multiple Mitsubishi Electric industrial control and automation products. According to the provided advisory content, the flaw is caused by improper session management and is classified as CWE-342. A malicious actor can impersonate a legitimate communication peer by leveraging predictable session-related values, enabling TCP session hijacking or device impersonation. If exploited, the attacker may be able to remotely execute arbitrary commands against the affected device. The issue affects a broad set of Mitsubishi Electric products, including PLCs, CPUs, Ethernet modules, HMIs, inverter series, servo products, and conveyor tracking applications.
