CVE-2020-17518 is a directory traversal vulnerability in Apache Flink's REST upload handling that was introduced in version 1.5.1. A REST handler accepts an uploaded file and uses attacker-controlled HTTP header data when determining the destination path, allowing a malicious request to write the uploaded file to an arbitrary location on the local filesystem. The write is constrained only by the filesystem permissions of the Flink process. Affected versions are Apache Flink 1.5.1 through 1.11.2.
