CVE-2020-1956 is a command injection vulnerability in Apache Kylin. In Apache Kylin 2.3.0, all releases up to 2.6.5 in the 2.x branch, and 3.0.1 in the 3.0.x branch, certain RESTful APIs construct operating system command strings by concatenating user-supplied input without adequate validation or sanitization. This unsafe command construction can allow an attacker to inject arbitrary shell metacharacters or additional commands into the OS command context, resulting in execution of attacker-controlled commands on the underlying host.
