CVE-2020-26147 is a Wi-Fi fragmentation handling flaw affecting Linux kernel 5.8.9 and other 802.11 implementations. The vulnerability arises because WEP, WPA, WPA2, and WPA3 implementations may reassemble fragmented frames even when some fragments were transmitted in plaintext instead of all fragments being consistently protected. In affected implementations, this improper acceptance and reassembly of mixed encrypted and plaintext fragments breaks the expected integrity/confidentiality assumptions of protected Wi-Fi traffic.
