CVE-2021-20124 is an unauthenticated path traversal/local file inclusion vulnerability in DrayTek VigorConnect 1.6.0-B3, specifically in the file download functionality exposed through the WebServlet endpoint. The vulnerable request path is /ACSServer/WebServlet using the act=getMapImg_acs2 action, where attacker-controlled filename input is not properly restricted to the intended directory. By supplying traversal sequences in the filename parameter, a remote attacker can cause the application to read and return arbitrary files from the underlying operating system. Reported proof-of-concept requests demonstrate retrieval of sensitive files such as /etc/passwd on Linux and windows/win.ini on Windows. The content states the application accesses these files with root privileges, increasing the sensitivity of accessible data.
