CVE-2021-20594 is an information disclosure vulnerability affecting Mitsubishi Electric MELSEC iQ-R series Safety CPU modules R08SFCPU, R16SFCPU, R32SFCPU, and R120SFCPU running firmware version 26 and earlier, and MELSEC iQ-R series SIL2 Process CPU modules R08PSFCPU, R16PSFCPU, R32PSFCPU, and R120PSFCPU running firmware version 11 and earlier. The flaw allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to determine legitimate usernames registered in the module by performing brute-force attempts against usernames. The issue is described as Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor and results in disclosure of valid account identifiers, which can facilitate subsequent attacks against the affected CPU modules.
